Last year, when Melissa and Nora told us that they were going to sign up for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, it didn't surprise us one bit. They show their compassion for people (and don't forget animals!) everyday, which is one of the many reasons we are so proud to have them as part of the Kingsbrook Team. Between the two of them, they raised more than $4,000 to help fight this terrible disease. Now, as they plan to participate in the walk again this May, they need your support more than ever. The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a 2-day, 39 mile walk that raises money that is used not only to to research breast cancer, but also funds breast cancer awareness education, access to screening and diagnosis, and also for treatment and support for those diagnosed with breast cancer. Last year, the Avon Walk in Washington, DC raised 5.8 Million Dollars! At Kingsbrook Animal Hospital, we don't just have the best, most caring staff, we also have the most incredible, big hearted clients too. | Hi Everybody! Just a little update on our efforts to get ready for the 2008 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Melissa and I have registered and started some short walks but I feel as though the clock is ticking in regards to my being prepared to walk 39 miles in May. It feels like we still have a lot of work to do. I just wanted to thank everyone who supported us last year and thank in advance anyone who may help us in our efforts to jointly raise a minimum of $3,600.00. | Hey Everyone! As Nora said above we're working on round two- the Avon Walk 2008. We have the same goals- to raise at least$1,800 each and walk 40 miles over two days.Ê We have until May to fundraise and train and we are excited to be doing it again because last year was a wonderful experience. If you'll visit our websites you can track our progress. I find myslef checking it multiple times a day because somehow I feel more nervous this year!
